Key reserves

Amanze Ngumezi

Ngumezi played sparingly as a freshman – only 6.6 minutes per game – but he should play an increased role this season if for nothing more than his size (6-9, 235 lbs). He’s athletic and will be used for his play around the rim.

Jaykwon Walton

Another versatile 6-7 wing, Walton could very well find himself in the starting lineup alongside fellow freshmen Edwards and Brown if Crean chooses to play a more traditional, though younger, lineup. He needs to get stronger but can contribute immediately as a shooter and in transition.

Donnell Gresham Jr.

A grad transfer from Northeastern, Gresham is a very experienced player who is a terrific playmaker and knows how to take care of the ball. He finished third in the CAA last year with a 2.44 assist-to-turnover ratio and, if he can pick up Crean’s offense quickly and adjust to SEC play, Gresham could find himself starting.

Tye Fagan

Fagan is another rising sophomore who came off the bench last season (11.1 minutes per game) and played both guard positions thanks to his size and passing ability. Expect him to have a similar combo-guard role and consistently used off the bench for Crean.

Toumani Camara

Camara can be a real wild card for the Bulldogs, and that’s a good thing. The native of Belgium is strong, athletic, and is comfortable with the ball in his hands. He’s also not afraid to mix it up inside or defensively, where he can defend multiple positions at 6-6. As a senior at Chaminade-Madonna Prep School, he averaged a double-double with 24.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.
