LaMelo Ball has grown into a legit top NBA Draft prospect. Who are the former college stars he’s currently playing with overseas?

Everyone knows LaMelo Ball. The 6’7 point guard is a projected top 5 pick in this year’s NBA Draft and has taken the basketball world by storm since his middle school days: However, playing in his shadow this season are some college basketball stars you might recognize.

Love him or hate him, LaMelo Ball is going to be on your television screen for years to come. The 18-year-old basketball player has been in the spotlight since his age hit double digits and has been a superstar ever since. The youngest Ball brother has appeared on all sorts of television/reality shows (including his own), sports pages, and media outlets for years now. After stops in: Chino Hills, Lithuania, SPIRE Institute, as well as the JBA , he made his biggest decision yet. This decision led him to Wollongong, New South Whales to play for the Illawara Hawks.

The Illawara Hawks play in the NBL in Australia. The league may not be the most fierce, with 34-year-old Andrew Bogut winning both MVP and DPOY last season, but there is your fair share of big names filling up some of the team’s rosters. In fact, one of my favorite college players ever and former Friar, Bryce Cotton,  won MVP in the 2017-18 season and continues to tear up the league today. The National Basketball League, and the Illawara Hawks specifically, have a few former college stars that you may remember. Let’s take a look at LaMelo’s teammates.
