Josh Boone (UCONN 04-06)

  • Best College Season: 12.4 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 1.2 APG, 2.9 BPG

If you were a college basketball fan in the early 2000s, you know how good those University of Connecticut teams were. UCONN dominated the Big East for the decade, with constant births and deep runs in the NCAA Tournament. Josh Boone was a big part of their team’s success in the 3 years he was in Storrs. His freshman year he was thrown straight into action. He started nearly every game in the frontcourt with Emeka Okafor, for a team that ended up winning the national championship.

He followed that season up with a stellar sophomore season in which he put up the best statistical numbers of his collegiate career. He took home All-Big East 2nd Team honors and the Big East DPOY award. These awards are spectacular, however, his biggest accomplishment could be that he can tell his kids he topped current NBA veteran Rudy Gay in scoring that year. His Junior year he put up slightly less impressive numbers on a UCONN team that got upset in the Elite 8 by 11 seeded George Mason, before he decided to forgo his Senior year and enter the NBA draft.

His NBA career consisted of 4 years with the New Jersey Nets before going overseas.

He now runs pick and rolls with LaMelo Ball in the land down under.
