Duke Basketball: Analyzing top remaining 2020 recruiting targets
Duke basketball is off to a predictably strong start with regards to 2020 recruiting. Who are some of their top remaining targets in the class?
Duke basketball is easily one of the best recruiting programs in the entire country. Year in and year out, the Blue Devils secure elite-level commitments from around the nation. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski is possibly the most feared person on the entire recruiting trail as he can seemingly snag a commitment from anyone that he targets. That much has been evident over the past few years and the legendary head coach is off to a superb start in the 2020 class.
With five early top-50 commits, the Blue Devils already hold the No. 1 group in the nation. Duke is narrowly edging out Kentucky for that spot. It is never easy to predict how many scholarships that Duke will have each year, but it is reasonable to assume that the program still has at least one available even with their early commitments.
It is widely anticipated that the Blue Devils will be losing five players after this season (DeLaurier, White, Jones, Hurt, and Carey). Even though they have all five of those 2020 spots filled already, it is also reasonable to think that the program will lose a few more underclassmen to the draft as well. Wendell Moore and Cassius Stanley are among those that could be departing after just one season in Durham.
With that said, Duke basketball is still very active with the 2020 class. Coach K is still targeting three players in the group and it is likely that he will secure at least one more commitment. Now the early signing period is approaching, let’s take a deeper dive into the Blue Devils’ efforts on the recruiting trail.
