Plenty of NCAA Basketball teams that found success a season ago are being written off for the 2019-20 season due to key departures. A few of those teams will prove those naysayers wrong.

As a fan of NCAA Basketball, one of the most fun things to do is sit back during the offseason and attempt to gauge how teams all over the country will perform in the next season. We often find ourselves analyzing things in a completely wrong way, but a lot of times, performance really can be predicted.

There are a lot of factors we take into account and questions we ask when trying to get a good outlook on a team.

  • Which key players has the team lost?
  • Was there a coaching change?
  • Who is returning?
  • Who has transferred in?
  • How good is the incoming recruiting class?

The truth is, when answering these questions for every team during the offseason, the losses and gains may almost seem to cancel each out. Other times, however, the answers to these questions can be very revealing.

The list of NCAA Basketball teams that I have compiled completely challenges what the answers to these questions have revealed about them to the rest of the college basketball world. The teams on this list are predicted to not perform well this season because their losses seem to far outweigh their gains. In other cases, some of these teams are just flat-out being overlooked.

Honestly, I have never been one to believe that teams just instantly become worse. In that case, I do not believe it until I see it.

With that, here are ten teams that will exceed expectations in 2019-20. Many still have the weapons to find success this season, but their guys just are not getting much credit. Many of them will prove people wrong by the time the NCAA Tournament rolls around.
