Oklahoma State Basketball: 2019-20 season preview for Cowboys
The Cowboys should climb the standings in the Big 12
The Oklahoma State 2019-20 schedule is a decent combination of games that will help build confidence in the team and challenge them at the same time. After two home games, they travel to take on a Charleston team that has been to the CAA Tournament finals the last two seasons. Before Thanksgiving, the team travels to Brooklyn for the NIT Season Tip-Off to face Syracuse and then have a matchup with either Ole Miss or a sneaky Penn State team on Black Friday.
The month of December will be a big test for Boynton’s team. They begin the month by hosting two possible NCAA Tournament teams in Georgetown and Wichita State. They then hit the road for a two-game trip before Christmas against Houston and Minnesota and the Cowboys finish their non-conference slate with a home game against Southeastern Louisiana.
As I said earlier, this season is a bit of a crossroads for the Cowboys under Boynton, but the return of an entire starting unit and a highly-touted recruiting class has things looking up. If the bench comes through, Oklahoma State could find themselves in the middle of the conference, if they struggle, a slight improvement just based on the talent upgrade could be in the cards.
