Florida Basketball is facing high expectations in 2019-20. How will the Gators answer the call as a preseason top-10 team?

Florida basketball has been among the most consistently successful programs in the country for the last several years. While Billy Donovan might have turned the program into a national championship-caliber team, current head coach Mike White has also been quite successful at the helm. Looking ahead to this coming season, expectations are sky high in Gainesville as Coach White has put together a roster capable of wreaking havoc on the rest of the nation.

In addition to returning a fair amount of talent from this past season, the Gators secured the No. 8 overall 2019 recruiting class in the nation. This group of incoming freshmen is absolutely astounding and fans have to be eager about the arrival. It would also be a mistake to overlook the fact that Florida is bringing in arguably the best graduate transfer in the country as well in Kerry Blackshear Jr.

To put it simply, Florida will be one of the most talented teams in the country this season. There are definitely some concerns regarding their outlook, most of them centered around inexperience, but the ceiling is insanely high for the Gators in 2019-20.

Now, without any further ado, let’s dive a bit deeper into Florida’s projections for this campaign with a season preview. This article will break down the roster, key storylines to watch, non-conference schedule, and overall outlook on the year.
