Tulane Basketball: 2019-20 season preview for Green Wave
There is a level of excitement surrounding Tulane, thanks to Hunter
The schedule that Tulane has put together gives them a chance to gain some confidence as a bunch of new guys learning to play together. They begin the year by hosting Southeastern Louisiana, Jackson State, and Northwestern State. They then go to Myrtle Beach to take part in the Myrtle Beach Classic, opening against Mississippi State followed by a game against either Villanova or Middle Tennessee State.
Their December schedule features two home games against SWAC teams Southern and Alcorn State as well as neutral-site games with Akron (Phoenix), Akron (Washington, D.C.) and either Liberty or Towson (Washington, D.C.). The team’s only true road games take place in December at Southern Miss and Saint Louis.
Like I said earlier, this season isn’t about postseason aspirations but more so getting the program heading in a positive direction, especially after a season that saw them go winless in league play.
This schedule should allow them to gain some confidence heading into AAC action, that coupled with the talent Hunter was able to bring in should make the Green Wave a team that AAC opponents aren’t used to seeing, one that will no longer be a league doormat and that should please everyone.
