There are several players vying to be the top pick in a deep 2020 NBA Draft class. Where will the best players end up? Here are the latest projections.

With the new NBA season set to tip-off on Tuesday, it’s time to take an updated look at how the 2020 NBA Draft might play out.

There is as much excitement going into the new year as there has been in some time because of how wide open the league is and how many legitimate championship contenders there are. Without the inevitability of the Golden State Warriors or the “Big 3” Miami Heat waiting at the end of the season (we can even go back to Kobe’s Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics’ Big 3), there’s renewed hope throughout much of the league.

Of course, that isn’t the case for everyone. A handful of teams know they’re going to be dreadful and are already looking ahead to the draft, where there is also excitement about how deep the top-tier group of prospects is.

There is no singular player like a Zion Williamson or Ben Simmons worth tanking for this year. Instead, there are a handful of talent players at the top that could all go No. 1 overall.

Memphis big man James Wiseman, the top recruit in the 2019 class, is firmly in that mix along with two freshmen guards in Georgia’s Anthony Edwards and North Carolina’s Cole Anthony. Those three battled for the No. 1 recruit ranking throughout their high school career and are expected to do so again for the honor of being the top pick.

However, that competition has gotten a little more crowded thanks to two other talented players in the 2019 class that opted to play in Australia’s NBL. RJ Hampton is showing why he was a top-five prospect while playing for the New Zealand Breakers, while LaMelo Ball has been extremely impressive to the point where he’s right at the forefront of that conversation as well.

So, with both the NBA and college basketball seasons preparing to get underway, who is currently projected to be that No. 1 pick? And where are the country’s other top players expected to end up? Find out in our latest mock 2020 NBA Draft, with the draft order based on some NBA title odds and projections.
