527. . Wing. Bulldogs . Anthony Edwards. 15. player

Georgia is not projected to be one of the nation’s top teams this year but they have a serious star ready to take the court. Anthony Edwards is arriving in Athens as the No. 2 overall recruit in the class and he looks poised to potentially revive the program. He is joining the team alongside a number of other notable recruits and this young team will be very intriguing to watch. Edwards is a sure-thing to be a star at the college level but the level of team success he experiences will dictate his potential for this award.

As a player, Edwards is a 6-foot-5 combo guard oozing with potential. He already brings a physically imposing frame to the backcourt and is incredibly athletic. The potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 Draft is very impressive as a scorer with the ability to fill it up at all three levels. He uses his size and quickness to get to the basket and finish with consistency while also keeping defenses honest with strong 3-point shooting.

Edwards might not be the best defender at this point in time but he definitely has potential on that end of the floor. He can cover multiple positions and that makes him a valuable player on that end of the floor. Head coach Tom Crean is toying with the idea of using Edwards at the point guard slot this season and that makes sense. Georgia will be at its best when Edwards has the rock.

Anthony Edwards projects as a college superstar and potential No. 1 pick next summer. If the Bulldogs post a strong season, his case will quickly gain steam.
