Jeremiah Robinson-Earl has all the tools to be one of the best instant-impact freshmen next season, yet the Villanova Basketball commit has not received any hype quite close to that magnitude. Here are three reasons why he should be considered as such.

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl of Villanova Basketball currently holds a spot at #14 in ESPN’s top-100 recruiting list. Of which is indeed a respectable ranking, especially knowing that most recruiting rankings account for future upside. But in terms of incoming freshman most likely to have a strong impact right out of the gate, a #14 ranking for JRE is an undersell.

That’s because all of the cards are perfectly in-line for Robinson-Earl to do major damage for Villanova Basketball the moment the season officially tips-off. Those cards entail the combination of his veteran-like skills and big-game experience, plus a supporting cast that seems designed for him to maximize his abilities.

Big East officials seem to agree, as he was recently selected as the Big East Preseason Freshman of the Year. That’s high praise for the 6-foot-8 forward, but he has yet to have seen the same praise at the national level, surprisingly.

While he may not be the overwhelming focal point of his team like fellow freshman Cole Anthony and James Wiseman expect to be, he still should easily find a prominent role in the Wildcats’ system. Here are three reasons why JRE will definitely succeed in that role, to the degree of becoming a top instant-impact freshman.
