The Louisville basketball squad has further strengthened its class of 2020 with the addition of four-star wing D’Andre Davis.

D’Andre Davis, a four-star prospect in the 2020 class, has pledged his services to the Louisville basketball team, according to a tweet from Davis that he posted on Sunday. The 6-foot-5 Davis, who can suit up at either guard or small forward, currently attends Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis.

According to various recruiting Web sites, Davis held more than 10 scholarship offers, including ones from Nebraska, Purdue and Xavier. Evan Daniels, director of recruiting for 247Sports, wrote in this piece that Davis re-opened his recruitment on Oct. 13 after initially committing to the Cornhuskers, which has seen a head-coaching change, moving on from Tim Miles in favor of Fred Hoiberg.

The Cardinals, poised for an exciting 2019-20 campaign in year number two of the Chris Mack era, are getting in Davis a guy who is generally regarded as a top-100 player nationally in his class. The 247Sports Composite slots Davis at No. 95 overall, followed by ESPN.com at No. 96, and Rivals.com at No. 110.

He made an official visit to the Louisville campus this past weekend, per the Daniels’ report, and Davis says that the Cardinals’ family environment, and the coaching prowess of Mack, appealed to him.

“I committed to Louisville because of their togetherness,” Davis told Daniels. “With them you hear the word family a lot and that’s something that means a lot to me. I’m a family person and I’ve grown up with a family where family is of utmost importance.”

Davis said of Mack, his future head coach, “He knows how to develop players and push them to reach every goal they want. The support is through the roof. They made me feel love and wanted and it’s somewhere I can see myself being for the next four years.”

In opting to don a Cardinals uniform in about 12 months, Davis joins Jay Scrubb as a member of Louisville’s 2020 class, which is presently placed at No. 30 on the 247Sports Web site. Scrubb is a five-star shooting guard out of John A. Logan College in Carterville, Ill., who is rated by 247Sports as the country’s No. 1 junior-college recruit. A stellar start by Mack & Co. for the program’s 2020 cycle.
