Projected Starters

Jaevin Cumberland

The Oakland transfer will provide Cincinnati with a guy that can knock down the outside shot with consistency. Jaevin will provide the Bearcats with some much-needed scoring and another ball handler to pair with Jarron. Cincinnati has struggled over the year to hit 3’s and with the addition of Jaevin, the Bearcats with have two guys in their frontcourt that can shoot.

Jarron Cumberland

The returning AAC Player of the Year and the preseason favorite to win again is back for his senior season for the Bearcats. Jarron will play this season with a chip on his shoulder as he looks to prove to NBA scouts that he’s good enough to play at the next level. Cumberland will be instrumental for the Bearcats as they make a transition from Mick Cronin to John Brannen. Something to keep an eye out for is the fact that Cumberland spent most of the summer recovering from a lower leg injury. Cumberland didn’t practice all summer and recently missed Bearcat Madness.

Keith Williams

Williams was second on the team last year in points and started almost every game for UC. The junior out of Brooklyn will look to take another step up after showing great improvement from his freshman to sophomore year. He should find himself as a regular starter again.

Tre Scott

The 6-8 big man started every game for Cincinnati last year and is a guy that does the dirty work down low. Scott had an excellent AAC tournament last season and will look to carry the momentum over to this season. Scott isn’t a prolific scorer but his physicality down low and ability to rebound has made him a valuable part of the Bearcats.

Jaume Sorolla

Figuring out who fills that fifth spot was tricky but I’m going with the 7 foot Valpo transfer Jaume Sorolla. Sorolla is a menace in the paint on both ends of the floor and is a great shot blocker. He’ll be able to help Tre Scott down low on the defensive end and snag some boards.
