What crazy things could happen during the upcoming ACC basketball season? Here are three bold predictions for the conference in 2019-20.

ACC basketball is coming off a banner season in which they had three teams earn No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament (making them the second conference ever to accomplish that feat) and produced the eventual national champion in Virginia.

The ACC remains the nation’s premier college hoops conference but expectations are not as high in 2019-20.

Virginia, North Carolina, Duke, and Florida State – the top four finishers in conference play last year – all have to replace the majority of their starting lineups and are expected to take a step back. The same goes for other teams like Syracuse and Virginia Tech, raising questions about the depth in the league.

Some of those teams have reloaded like they always do thanks to elite recruiting classes, and Louisville has emerged as a national title threat in the second year under head coach Chris Mack.

But there’s no denying the fact there are more question marks than sure things in the conference, and that should set the stage for some chaos and surprises in the new season.
