What can we expect from Big Ten Basketball this year? Here are three bold predictions for the 2019-20 conference season.

Big Ten Basketball looks like it is going to be deep and competitive again this year. Michigan State is the preseason number one team in the country. Maryland is also in the top ten. Ohio State is in the top 20 and Purdue is in the top 25. The Big Ten can make claims to be the best conference in the country and they would have a good argument.

Even with as competitive as it looks like it is going to be this year, Michigan State is by far the best team in the conference. They did get a little bit of bad news when they learned that Joshua Langford would be out until at least January, but they didn’t have him for most of last year and still made the Final Four.

After the Spartans, it starts to get a little jumbled. Purdue, Ohio State, and Maryland look like the next best teams, but they all have some question marks. Illinois and Penn State are looking to be sleeper teams. The only teams that look like they are going to be bad are Northwestern and Rutgers.

Every other team in the conference can have hopes to be anywhere from the middle of the conference on down. It should make for some exciting games this year.

So what things will happen this year in the Big Ten? We take a look at three bold predictions for the 2019-20 season. The one thing that seems pretty certain is Michigan State will win the Big Ten. We are going to make that prediction also but that isn’t bold, so we will take that as our free prediction. Here are three that are a little bolder.
