5. Texas Tech vs. Iowa (Nov. 28, Las Vegas Invitational)

Coming off of a trip to the NCAA Title game, I expect to see Texas Tech wreak havoc on their non-conference opponents. Iowa’s guards will be a problem and the game will be close, but the Red Raiders will grab a convincing win in the end.

Winner: Texas Tech

4. Marquette vs. Purdue (Nov. 13, Gavitt Tip-Off)

Markus Howard and his teammates get a shot at a top-half Big Ten school. Purdue’s offense has some questions to answer and I think they may struggle early in the season. They do have Matt Haarms and he will give Marquette fits down low. The game will be a thriller.

Winner: Marquette

3. Baylor vs. Arizona (Dec. 7)

This will certainly be a good one. Baylor advanced to Second Round of the NCAA Tournament last year, and they look to be even better. I feel like Arizona is reborn this year. This game will be extremely close and take the full 40 minutes to decide.

Winner: Arizona

2. Ohio State vs. Cincinnati (Nov. 6)

Cincinnati certainly wanted to leave no question for the NCAA Tournament selection committee about whether or not they are a tournament team if they happen to not win the American. That is why they made a brutal schedule. I think it was smart because they not only will pick up key victories but will win the Ohio State Championship the first game of the season.

Winner: Cincinnati

1. Purdue vs. Virginia (Dec. 4, Big Ten/ACC Challenge)

The guys that are left over for Virginia know that a lot of doubts surround them despite the fact that they are ranked 11th in the country heading into the season. That is why they will get a much-needed win against Purdue in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Winner: Virginia
