Cincinnati Basketball: 2019-20 keys for Bearcats to get revenge on Ohio State
3. Relax
John Brannen is likely feeling the pressure with big shoes to fill, an in-state game against a top 25 team on national television, a lot of people are going to be paying attention. Brannen and Bearcats fans want to win but this game won’t define their season.
Jarron Cumberland has the weight of a city on his back, high expectations, he just has to play his game. Cumberland can’t try and force shots if things aren’t going his way. He’s got talent around him and they need to contribute if guys like Jaevin Cumberland, McNeal, and Tre Scott can get going it will take a whole lot of pressure off Jarron.
Cincinnati doesn’t need to play out of their minds to take down Ohio State, if they stick to the gameplan and continue to play good defense as they have in the past they’ll be in the game. Bearcats fans need to be excited about their team and the future of the program and remember not to overreact to the result whether it’s a win or a loss.
I expect this to be a gritty game that’s close for the entire game, a great early season test for both teams. Both teams have tournament aspirations and this game will end up looking good on a resume come March.
