NCAA Basketball: 5 smallest arenas entering 2019-20 season

Not every NCAA Basketball program plays in high-priced arenas. Which teams are in the smallest environments?

Here at Busting Brackets, the aesthetics of NCAA Basketball are important to us. Anything from the arena’s, uniforms, court designs, we like it all. The atmosphere of a game is important not only to fans but players too.

Some schools can afford luxury and play in 20,000+ seat arenas like Rupp Arena or the Dean Smith Center, or even 10,000+ seat arenas like Breslin Center, Pinnacle Bank Arena, the CHI Health Center, or the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene.

Some schools don’t have the luxury of playing in front of a packed house every night. Some schools don’t even get the privilege of playing for even a full house. Some schools play in front of just a few hundred people most nights, and those schools deserve some love too.

We talked about the big arenas, and we all know those schools. It’s no coincidence the team’s who play at bigger arenas and have allocated better resources are better at basketball. For this list, though, you may have guessed these five schools are mid-major schools and haven’t had much success on the court. The gym’s, or arena’s, or courts, however, they may be classified, are equivalent to what you may see in a high school setting.
