2. Vinnie Shahid, North Dakota State, Sr., G

2018-19 stats: (13.1 ppg/3.0 rpg/2.6 apg)

Shahid had a true coming-out party in the round of 64 in the NCAA tournament last year when he put up 20 points in a game against Duke where the Bison were more competitive than most anyone outside of Fargo expected. But if you’d watched the Summit League all year, you saw the upside with Shahid throughout the season.

He cleared 20 points in a game eight times last year, but with improved consistency and playing a key role for an NDSU team that should be the favorite more often in conference play, I can see that number climbing and his overall average potentially nearing 18 a game.

1. Kevin Obanor, Oral Roberts, So., F

2018-19 stats: (14.4 ppg/7.2 rpg/0.5 apg)

As a freshman, Obanor was a revelation for the Golden Eagles. He put up a 40/50/80 line shooting, en route to leading his team in scoring off the bench. For his efforts, he was awarded the Summit League Rookie of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year while also being named to the Summit League All-Freshman Team and the All-Conference 2nd team. Daum was the last player in this conference to have an award case like that after his first year.

Obanor should be the top option in what, by my estimate, should be a dangerous Oral Roberts attack. With a lack of size on the roster, he’ll also probably have a chance to run up some big rebounding numbers as well.
