Lately, Kansas Basketball has struggled on the recruiting trail. That changed with the news of Bryce Thompson joining the Jayhawks.

Kansas Basketball has always been one of the premier programs in the country. It makes sense considering the game was invented on their campus by Dr. James Naismith. The Jayhawks are currently in the throws of an FBI investigation into their program, due to some questionable recruiting tactics of some former players. The FBI investigation has not hurt Kansas and their view nationally in the media, however, it has seemed to sway recruits to other schools. However, that seems to not have had an effect on five-star guard Bryce Thompson.

Head coach Bill Self has never had much of an issue with recruiting. The name on the front of the jersey provides all the help and persuasion most of the high-profile recruits need to choose Kansas. Like other blue bloods they have a rabid fan base, great facilities and they play the best schools every single season. These reasons, along with the overall history of the program, make it even more surprising that Kansas has struggled to fill their roster with the normal caliber of players they are used to.

Any fan who follows the sport knows that Kansas has one of the more dominant big men in the country in Udoka Azubuike as well as intriguing prospect David McCormack. At this point, big man Silvio De Sousa, who returned from a year-long NCAA suspension, looks to be out of place and right now does not look very good. Coach Self has struggled with quality depth to fill his team, especially in the backcourt.

Devon Dotson and Ochai Agbaji are great in the backcourt and are ready to lead Kansas, however with the transfers of Charlie Moore and Quentin Grimes and the offensive deficiencies with defensive stalwart Marcus Garrett. Has left Kansas thin in the wing and backcourt.
