The first week of the NCAA Basketball season has come and past. Our Busting Brackets Podcast recaps some of the biggest events.

After weeks of previewing the 2019-20 NCAA Basketball season, the Busting Brackets Podcast finally gets to recap actual games played on the court. Our hosts Connor Hope and Brian Rauf goes through all the most notable matchups and provide their opinions and takeaways.

There’s no better place to start than the massive upset of Evansville over No. 1 Kentucky most recently, making it already the second No. 1 ranked team to fall. What does it say about the Wildcats, Evansville and the “projected” top teams of NCAA Basketball going forward?

Something to keep in mind this season is the expanded three-point line. Which teams have benefitted from the move and who has struggled from beyond the arc? Connor gives his take on the change and its early impact.

He also gives us a glance at the Pac-12, a conference that had a lot of pressure coming into this season. Who was the most impressive teams so far this past week? Florida was another team with a fair amount of expectations thanks to a preseason top-10 ranking. How do the guys feel after their upset loss to Florida State?

Another team to keep an eye on is Seton Hall, who might not have star guard Myles Powel, who is injured. Can the Pirates survive without him for the big matchups starting with Michigan State? Brian takes a closer look at the Big East team. Speaking of the Big East, how impressed are the guys about their early slate of performances as a group? The mid-majors also gets a look by the guys, with their biggest winners, losers and surprises overall.

Taking a look forward, the guys talk about some of the matchups they’re most excited for. Whether it’s BYU vs Houston, Florida vs UConn, or the finale of the 2019 Gavitt Games between the Big East and Big Ten, there are plenty of quality games to watch out for in the coming week.

To finish out the episode, Connor and Brain give their last thoughts on a few teams in particular, including Gonzaga and Kansas before providing some bold predictions for the upcoming week. Enjoy the next slate of NCA Basketball games and stay tuned to the next Busting Brackets Podcast episode!
