NC State Basketball: Wolfpack add duo to cap off a tremendous 2020 class
By Hunter Moore
NC State Basketball completes its 2020 recruiting class by adding a pair from Moravian Prep. What does Josh Hall and Shakeel Moore bring to the Pack?
NC State Basketball came into the weekend holding commitments from 4-Star Guard Cam Hayes, 3 Star Forward Nick Farrar, and 3 Star Center Ebenezer Dowuona. Kevin Keatts expanded this class by adding two versatile teammates from Moravian Prep in 3 Star Combo Guard Shakeel Moore and 4/5 Star Forward Josh Hall.
With the addition of these two that means Keatts brings in 4 North Carolina products for the 2020 recruiting class, something Wolfpack fans should be very excited about.
Shakeel Moore is a 6’1’’ guard from Greensboro, North Carolina who can play both on and off the ball in the guard positions. Moore has recently shown his improved ability to shoot the ball as he went 7 for 7 from behind the arc in a recent game and he shot 35.7% from 3 this summer playing for Team CP3.
What really sets Moore apart is his ability to get after it on the defensive end and isn’t afraid to guard 94 feet from the basket, in the NIKE EYBL circuit he averaged nearly three steals per game this summer. On his team, this summer was fellow Wolfpack commit Cam Hayes so the two have no problem sharing the backcourt together.
Josh Hall is a 6’9’’ forward from Durham, North Carolina who can play anywhere from the 2-guard to a stretch-4 position on the court. Hall is ranked as a 4-star prospect by 247 Sports and ESPN, while Rivals views Hall as a 5 Star Prospect. His biggest strength on the court is his size which helps him to shoot and finish over defenders at his position.
At just 190 pounds Hall’s biggest downside is his strength which should come along once he gets on campus next fall if he ever goes to college…Like Jalen Lecque from last year, Hall has the opportunity to go straight to the NBA, although the two are completely different prospects in the eyes of NBA scouts.
After landing Josh Hall and Shakeel Moore the 2020 recruiting class for Kevin Keatts and company ranks inside the top 5 according to 247 Sports. Which is by far his best class since taking over as Head Coach of the Wolfpack back in March of 2017 after a successful campaign at UNC-Wilmington.
