UConn Basketball is coming off a big win against #15 Florida this past weekend. What can the Huskies look to do to win their first-round matchup in the Charleston Classic against Buffalo?

A huge win for Dan Hurley and company over the weekend, coming off the back of a disappointing loss to Saint Joe’s. UConn Basketball was desperate for a rebound win and they got one. The Huskies stuck it to Florida with a solid performance and a win that will look good on their resume come March.

UConn moves to 2-1 and will head down to Charleston to take part in the Charleston Classic this weekend against a number of solid programs. A chance for UConn to get some more wins under their belt as they get ready for conference play, the AAC at the moment looks like it’s anyone’s to take.

UConn starts its opener with the Buffalo Bulls. Buffalo is in a bit of a transition year after head coach Nate Oates left for Alabama in the spring. Despite that the Bulls will enter Charleston at 2-1 as well with their best win coming over Harvard, Harvard were preseason favorites in the Ivy League.

One of the biggest storylines for the Charleston opener for UConn will be the highly anticipated debut of freshman guard James Bouknight. Bouknight was suspended for the first three games of the season after a run-in with law enforcement back in September. Bouknight has been thought of as one of if not UConn’s best guards for this season. Fans can’t wait to see what kind of impact and spark he can have on this UConn team.

We’ll preview some things UConn needs to focus on in order to get past Buffalo and into the second round of the Charleston Classic.
