Oregon Basketball will face off against the Seton Hall Pirates in a top 15 matchup for a spot in the Battle 4 Atlantis semifinals. What must they do to win?

Oregon Basketball takes on the Seton Hall Pirates tomorrow in their second Top 25 matchup of the season. Unlike their first opponent the Memphis Tigers, the Pirates strength lies more in their experience and less in their raw talent. This will force the Ducks to play more consistently and continue to change up their looks to prevent the Pirates from getting into a rhythm.

As is the case with every game, there are several things the Oregon Ducks must do in order to win this game. Let’s take a look at those keys to victory.

1) Make Free Throws

It is no secret that the Seton Hall Pilates will put up a lot of points on any defense. In order to beat them, an opponent must score at every opportunity they can. For the Ducks, this will also mean improving their efficiency from the line and making their free throws.

The Pirates are not the most foul-averse team on the planet, and this will send the Ducks to the line more often than they have all season. Oregon is current 224th in the country in free throw percentage, making 67.7% from the stripe, and three players are shooting worse than 60% on the year.

With the importance of attacking the rim in order to free their shooters, Oregon will likely see themselves shooting at least 20-25 free throws. If they fail to capitalize from the charity stripe, they will be shooting themselves in the foot in the scoring department.
