Myles Powell used to be one of college basketball’s best-kept secrets, now the senior guard is leading Seton Hall to wins and generating NBA Draft buzz.

Prior to the tip-off of this college basketball season, looking around mock NBA Drafts and big board’s there is one name that was not coming up often: Myles Powell.

The Trenton, New Jersey native was coming off a junior season where he averaged 23.1 points per game for Seton Hall and helped lead the team to an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Powell’s resume jumps out when looking at his profile.

Last season he was named to the All Big-East First Team, the All-MET First Team, he was an Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention and coming into this season he was named an Associated Press Preseason All-American and was named the Big East Preseason Player of the Year.

With those accolades, a scoring average of over 20 points a game, and as the best player on a team ranked in the AP Top 25, Powell should have been generating draft buzz. It took a few weeks, but with his strong play to start the season, it’s slowly beginning to happen now.

Powell is far from a perfect prospect, but his dynamite scoring ability certainly offers intrigue to teams at the next level. Read on to find out Powell’s strengths, weaknesses, and who he compares to in the pro game.
