Temple has to make Three’s

Mentioned a little bit about the size for Temple and how we’ve seen a lot of smaller lineups out on the floor. Facing a team with a lot of size in Maryland and the fact they played a zone made it really difficult for Temple to get any success pounding the ball in down low.

Since they couldn’t pound the ball they resorted to shooting a lot of jumpers, it worked out really well in the first half when it seemed Temple was only shooting three-pointers. In fact, Temple had 19 three-point attempts in the first half in comparison to just twelve two-point field goals. As things cooled off in the second half Temple found themselves going on stretches where they struggled to score points and Maryland certainly looked to take advantage.

Temple hit ten threes against Texas A&M in a game where it seemed like they were hardly challenged. Against Davidson, they found themselves down at the half due to a poor 3-11 shooting from distance. The defense has been able to bail out the Owls in a few games so far but they’re going to have to try and match some of the more explosive offenses, shooting the ball well from deep is a key for the Owl’s success this season.
