With the NCAA Basketball non-conference tournaments completed, the Busting Brackets Podcast aims to recap the good and the bad from the past two weeks.

It’s been a couple of weeks since the last Busting Brackets Podcast but it’s due to our hosts Brian Rauf and Connor Hope having to take in everything that happened during “Feast Week”. Over a dozen non-conference tournaments and a bunch of top-tier NCAA Basketball matchups ravaged the top-25, giving us yet again a new No. 1 team.

Who were the biggest winners and losers from the past couple of weeks? You’ll be hard-pressed to find one better than the Michigan Wolverines, who went from unranked to No. 4 in the country thanks to wins over Gonzaga and North Carolina. The guys discuss how dangerous the Wolverines really are going forward.

A player who had a big week was Obi Toppin, whose Maui Invitational run has brought him onto the national radar. Is the sophomore forward on track for an All-American campaign? Dayton wasn’t the only mid-major team who had some success during Feast Week. San Diego State remains unbeaten after winning the Las Vegas Invitational and looks to be a prime threat to take on Utah State in the Mountain West. The guys talk about how the non-Gonzaga mid-majors out west are shaping up.

An off the court development that occurred was the departures of both James Aknjo and Josh LeBlanc from Georgetown. With alleged connections with law enforcement and other allegations, there has been a lot of confusion about the roles some of the guys involved. Brian and Connor clear things up and discuss the on the court ramifications for the Hoyas going forward.

Speaking of going forward, what is Texas Tech going to look like? They’ve now lost three games (podcast was recorded before DePaul loss) and are currently unranked. Is just getting star freshman Jahmi’us Ramsey all the Red Raiders need to get back on track? Or are they truly in deep trouble?

The Pac-12 took its fair share of stumbles since Connor praised them a couple of weeks ago but the top teams have still looked impressive. When it comes to Arizona, Oregon, Colorado and Washington, how do Connor rate the teams against each other? Stanford, an under the radar team in the middle, also gets a mention.

Even though the Feast Week matchups have passed, there are still some quality games coming up this weekend. Dayton-Saint Mary’s, Virginia-UNC and Washington-Gonzaga are all playing on Sunday. Which games have the eyes of our hosts?

To round out the Busting Brackets Podcast as usual, the guys make some bold predictions. Virginia has been known to have some offensive issues but could they actually get shutout from the win column for the whole week? Check out the games, as well as our podcast heading into the weekend.
