Michigan Basketball suffered its first loss of the year at Louisville on Tuesday night. They look to bounce back as they open up Big Ten play when they host Iowa on Friday night.

The effects of three games in three days in the Bahamas, plus travel back to Ann Arbor and then back on the road to Louisville three days seemed to be present in Michigan Basketball’s game against Louisville. That and the suffocating defense that the Cardinals played in their marquee matchup on Tuesday night.

Either way, the Wolverines looked human on Tuesday after a sensational Battle 4 Atlantis showing and shiny number four next to their name. Michigan will look to prove their ranking wasn’t a fluke when they host Iowa on Friday night in their Big Ten opener.

Louisville completely overwhelmed the Wolverines holding them to just 43 points and just 26% shooting for the game. Michigan came in as one of the best shooting teams in the country but they couldn’t figure out the Cardinals defense in the first half and couldn’t hit any open shots in the second half.

Despite cutting the lead to four early in the second half, the Wolverines were never really in the game and dropped the game 58-43. They need to hope that it was just a one-game slump as they host Iowa on Friday.

The Wolverines need to get back to how they were playing in the Bahamas when they play the Hawkeyes. We take a look at three keys for them to do that.
