Best Performance, Individual – DeAndre Williams, Evansville

DeAndre Williams puts Evansville into this column for the second time this season, as the Purple Aces earned team of the week honors for their historic upset Kentucky. But this week, Williams gives them shine in the individual section.

The sophomore only had the third-highest scoring game of the week, dropping 37 points in Evansville’s 101-87 win over Miami (Ohio), but it was the efficiency he scored with that gets him in the column this week.

Williams made an absurd 17 out of his 18 shots on Saturday, most of which came inside the arc (he was 2-3 from three-point range). He also grabbed 10 boards to get the double-double, and threw in three assists, three blocks, and one steal. Watch out for Evansville as a contender in the Missouri Valley.

As mentioned above, two players actually scored more than Williams this week, earning honorable mention status. Boston’s Sam Sessoms scored 40 points on 15-32 shooting (6-14 from three) in a an overtime loss at Binghamton. He also had five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Eastern Washington’s Jacob Davidson scored 39 points on 17-27 shooting (3-5 from three) in a win vs North Dakota. He also had six rebounds, five assists, and five steals.
