Following an upsetting loss in the ACC/B1G Challenge, the ACC has taken a step back and we have seen several top-ranked ACC Basketball teams fall in the past few days.

Prior to the ACC/B1G Challenge, ACC Basketball was looking good, several teams were ranked, Duke, UNC, Virginia and Louisville were all undefeated, Florida State looked promising, now less than a week later, it is a much different story.

The ACC/B1G Challenge was a huge disappointment for the ACC as the conference lost the challenge 6-8 with three of their ranked teams suffering losses. Not only that, but the ACC’s only wins against ranked teams during the challenge came from Duke beating Michigan State and Louisville beating Michigan.

It was because of this that many have begun to say that the ACC has taken a step back and maybe the B1G is the best conference this year.

Nonetheless, the ACC appears to be up for grabs this year as the normal powerhouses look worse than usual and there are now no remaining undefeated teams. So what does that mean for the near future?

Well ACC play is now getting started as every team has played at least one conference game and it will be in full swing by the end of the month. This means that we will start to find out who the true contenders are and more importantly, who the pretenders are.

For instance, there are a couple teams such as Notre Dame and Boston College who look to be decent, but there is still a lot to be seen from them and with ACC play getting underway, we will find out just how good (or bad) they are.

In addition to all that, we will get some clarity on who the top teams are. At the moment it looks to be Duke, Louisville and Virginia with Florida State and UNC filing in right behind them.

So without further ado, here are the ACC rankings as of December 11th:
