Gonzaga and Baylor were among the biggest winners of this past week. Where did everyone land in this edition of the NCAA basketball top-25 power rankings?

Another week of NCAA basketball is complete and there were more surprises once again. Top teams dropped games across the country, especially with regard to the bottom of my top-25. Also, with Ohio State falling to Minnesota at the end of the week, the streak continues of naming a new No. 1 overall team in these power rankings for just about every edition. The same applies to the AP poll as there is seemingly a new team at the top every single week.

On the whole, it just feels as though there aren’t any dominant teams in college basketball this season. Simply put, nobody is very good. As a result, this season projects as one of the most engaging in recent memory as everyone has a shot at making a run. There doesn’t appear to be a Villanova or Virginia or Duke that is ready to take the nation by storm and roll through its competition this season. Parity could be at an all-time high and that should make for a very entertaining campaign across the nation.

With regard to this particular edition of my Top 25 national power rankings, the two most notable risers are Gonzaga and Baylor. Both teams added top-25 wins during this past week and are riding hot streaks into the future. The Bulldogs and Bears were ranked as preseason top-25 teams heading into the season but now look the part of belonging in the top-10 and on the shortlist of potential contenders for the national title.

As for teams that fell out, five of the seven teams ranked 19-through-25 in my rankings last week all suffered defeats in the past few days. That caused them all to drop out and several newcomers make their first appearances of the season as a result.

Without any further ado, though, let’s dive into the Week 7 version of my national Top 25 power rankings.
