Force Creighton to Turn the Ball Over

There are a couple of things that Creighton does particularly well this season. One of those is taking care of the ball. They are currently in the top 50 in the country with only 12.1 turnovers committed per game. It allows them to keep their offense controlled and efficient and also makes sure that they get a shot up on nearly every possession.

As it happens, one of the things Arizona State has done particularly well this season is forcing its opponents to commit turnovers. They are currently the 24th best team in the country in this category, forcing 17.3 turnovers per game.

This won’t be important for ASU just for purpose of disrupting Creighton’s offense, but also because a few easy buckets off of steals should help jump-start an offense that struggled to get into any kind of rhythm in their last game.

ASU has been at their best throughout this season when they apply pressure to their opponents. They even needed the press to give them a boost against Prairie View A&M and couldn’t extend their lead without it throughout the game. Against Creighton, they’ll need to apply pressure right from the start of the game to keep Creighton’s offense off-balance and hopefully create some offense of their own. The offense needs as much help as it can get right now.
