2. The Buffs need to run an efficient offense

Colorado has been susceptible to turning the ball over.  They ranked #295 in offensive turnover percentage and #342 in steal percentage.  Junior McKinley Wright IV runs the Buffalo offense from the point guard position.  He has 27 turnovers on the year while Bey has 31.

Dayton’s redshirt junior transfer Rodney Chatman is a defense-first guard and puts good pressure on the ball.  The Colorado ball handlers will need to protect the ball, run the offense, and get a good shot.

The Buffs’ offense has been clunky at times.  Colorado has a lack of finishers.  Bey has shown glimpses at times, but not consistently.  He is their leading scorer at only 12.6 ppg. Wright and D’Shawn Schwartz are adding 11.3 ppg and 10.1 ppg, respectively.

Colorado is ranked #295 in two-point field goal percentage.  Fortunately, they are #59 in offensive rebounding so they work hard for their buckets.  Dayton defends the three-pointer well, so the Buffaloes need their offense to work inside the arc.  The fact that Colorado scored less than 60 points to teams like #307 Wyoming, #206 Sacramento State and #146 Colorado State does not bode well for the Buffs.

Secondary scoring comes from Battey (8.7 ppg), Siewert (7.9 ppg), and Shane Gatling (7.1 ppg).  Scoring will have to come from somewhere.  I just don’t know where.
