Dayton Basketball and Colorado face off at Chicago Legends on Saturday. What can the Flyers do to beat the Buffaloes?

Although the Colorado Buffaloes dropped out of the Top-25 this week, their matchup with Dayton Basketball on Saturday still has the feel of a Top-25 battle. The two squads are set to meet in the United Center for the State Farm Chicago Legends, where they were one of four teams invited to participate in the second-ever interaction of the event, joining Iowa and Cincinnati this season.

Each year at the Chicago Legends event, program legends are honored for each school taking part in the doubleheader. At this year’s celebration, Dayton’s Roosevelt Chapman and Colorado’s Donnie Boyce will be honored, as will Corie Blount of Cincinnati and Iowa’s Ronnie Lester. Tip-off is set for 5:30 central time, with the Dayton and Colorado matchup as the first outing of the doubleheader.

The Flyers enter the game having won four in a row and nine out of their 10 games so far this season. Their only loss on the year to date came against Kansas, the newly-crowned number one team in the country, in overtime at the Maui Invitational.

Meanwhile, Colorado recently dropped out of the Top-25 after a loss to an underrated Northern Iowa squad. Their only other loss on the season also happened to come against Kansas, except that the Buffaloes fell by 14 on the road.

These two teams last met in March in the first round of the NIT, with four seed Buffaloes taking out five seed Dayton 78-73 in the Alabama bracket. Dayton has improved considerably since that date. What will it take for them to beat Colorado this time?
