Duke Basketball: 3 takeaways from Duke’s home victory over Wofford
Duke Basketball took on the Wofford Terriers on Thursday night, a team that just went into Chapel Hill and beat the Tar Heels for the second time in three years.
Duke Basketball was back in action Thursday night after nearly a two-week break. For the first time this season Duke was forced to put a starting lineup out that didn’t include star point guard, Tre Jones.
However, it seemed as if the Blue Devils didn’t skip a beat without Tre Jones as they handled the Terriers with ease. Without Jones Duke was forced to get scoring from other players and they certainly did as Joey Baker stepped up in a large way, going for 22 points on 6-11 from the field and 5-7 from beyond the arc.
Exactly half of Duke’s points on Thursday night came from the bench with 34 of the 83 also coming from the paint. Without Jones, the Blue Devils stepped up and proved they can get the job done despite the circumstances.
However, this was not the only major thing we learned from this game, Duke was very impressive in just about every aspect of the word and with ACC play right around the corner, many of these takeaways will prove to be important very soon.
So with that being said, let’s take a look at the three main takeaways from a very impressive win from Thursday’s game against Wofford.
