Obi Toppin, SF – Dayton Flyers, Atlantic 10 Conference

This was an obvious choice to make the list. Not only is Toppin one of the top mid-major players in college basketball, but he’s also one of the best NBA prospects in the entire draft this season. Toppin is currently averaging a shade under 19 points and 8 boards a game for the Flyers.

The six-foot-nine sophomore projects as a high-level producer at the next level. Toppin has the size and skill to handle smaller players in the post and score over them, but he also has a smooth shooting stroke that allows him to comfortably step behind the arc and shoot the three-ball.

So long as Toppin keeps producing and the Flyers continue to have sustained success, his name should remain in the conversation of a top-five or top 10 pick in the draft.

It also helps Toppin’s case that Dayton is one of the better and more successful mid-major programs in the country and that should give him a good reputation for NBA teams to look at going forward.

Should the Flyer’s continue on the successful path they’ve been on so far, conference and tournament play will be a good chance for Toppin to boost the stock of both himself as a player and Dayton as a program.
