Mid-major Basketball has certainly had an impact in the 2019-20 season so far? What are the biggest questions for the smaller leagues the rest of the way?

“Upsets” have been the major theme throughout college hoops in the non-conference. And a huge percentage of those came thanks to mid-major basketball. Shockers such as Evansville over Kentucky and Stephen F. Austin over Duke, along with many others, have changed the landscape of the sport.

Currently, the No. 1 team in the country is a mid-major (Gonzaga), while another is one of just two unbeaten teams left (San Diego State). And besides the upsets, a number of smaller schools have shown the ability to keep up with the big boys and possibly make a big run once March gets here.

For the past few days, I’ve been doing a series of roundtables for Busting Brackets, asking five questions to a select group of writers and gathering their answers. I’ve done it for the power conferences and with the consistent top mid-major leagues (Mountain West, WCC and Atlantic 10) but I wanted to do one focusing on the teams from the one-bid conferences. So don’t be alarmed by the lack of Gonzaga and Dayton mentions for this piece. These are the participating writers for this roundtable:
