With AAC Basketball just starting conference play this week, what are the biggest questions still unanswered for the more notable programs?

Last season, AAC Basketball was dominated by a pair of teams in Houston and Cincinnati. This year, it was looking like the Memphis Tigers were the clear-cut favorite, thanks to their impressive recruiting class. However, they lost their top player James Wiseman when he was suspended for 12 games for impermissible benefits, followed by opting to go pro in late December.

That still hasn’t stopped Memphis from winning games and remaining a favorite to win the AAC. But other programs have stepped up and made an early claim that they too should get some serious attention. There are teams at the bottom half of the conference that at times have looked dangerous as well. At this point, there’s no telling if the league will get as many as five NCAA Tournament teams, or as little as 2 or 3.

With so many questions involving all the teams, I asked a few of our Busting Brackets writers to help answer some of the questions I had. Here are the contributors to the AAC roundtable;

Matthew Winick – @matthewwinick

Lukas Harkins – @hardwiredsports

Thanks to these guys for their input into this discussion and please give them a follow for more AAC/college hoops content. Without further ado, here are my five big questions concerning the conference, followed by each of their answers.
