As we move into conference play, how do the Big 12 Basketball teams stack up to this point in the season? Let’s look at the current power rankings from bottom to top.

Big 12 Basketball is once again one of the premier conferences in the nation. There may be more question marks this season than in years past, but the conference is still strong from top to bottom. It is likely that six to seven of the teams in the conference will end up making the NCAA tournament in March, and a few teams are looking like legitimate national title contenders.

Guard play has been the story of the league so far. The guards in the Big 12 match up favorably with those from any other conference. Night in and night out, there will be fun match-ups of terrific guards in this conference. With the importance placed on that position, the conference should be set up well to compete on a national stage when the end of season tournaments begin.

Things are beginning to settle into place in terms of the league hierarchy, but there is still plenty of room for surprises in these rankings. With talented teams throughout the league, no Big 12 opponent can be overlooked. Look for the winner of the conference to have four or five losses in league play when all is said and done.

As we get into conference play, there is still room for any team in the league to prove itself. Now two months into the season, let’s look at where these teams stand relative to each other. Here are the current power rankings from number 10 to number 1.
