Gonzaga Basketball lands a historical recruit for its program in Jalen Suggs. How loaded will the Bulldogs be for the 2020-21 season?

It has been a nice past few weeks for Gonzaga Basketball. They garnered another No. 1 national ranking, showed some resiliency in the WCC opening games and took out former rival Pepperdine for the 38th straight time. But the most important victory came on the high school level, with the commitment of five-star guard Jalen Suggs.

The highest-ever ranked commit (No. 10 per 247sportsComposite) and the first five-star to pledge to Gonzaga straight out of high school, Suggs is a two-sport star out of Minnesota. He could’ve been a starting quarterback for a power conference school if he went that route but instead, he chooses basketball, a sport where he’ll be able to pro much quicker. In fact, there’s still a possibility that Suggs could play overseas, instead of joining the Bulldogs. But for the sake of college basketball and it’s observers, let’s just assume that he’ll be playing for Mark Few at this time next year.

It’s a huge pickup for the WCC juggernauts, who committed while playing at the highest of levels for Minnehaha high school. Suggs led the team to a big win over Sierra Canyon, displaying elite offense and defense all around. Coach Few normally develops these kinds of players over a 3-4 year span but with Suggs, that kind of talent and potential is already there.

But Suggs isn’t the only newcomer expected to arrive in Spokane for next season. Are they capable of replacing those leaving after this year? And how good will the Bulldogs be next season? Here’s a look at the potential roster for the No. 1 team in the country.
