A couple of weeks into conference play, there have been some notable results. What do the Busting Brackets Podcast hosts have to say about it?

Welcome to the first 2020 edition of the Busting Brackets Podcast! Our regular hosts Connor Hope and Brian Rauf are back, with plenty of hot takes and observations to discuss. With it being a couple of weeks since the last episode, let’s find out their thoughts overall in NCAA Basketball.

The ACC has typically been an elite hoops conference but outside of Duke, it’s been bad. That even includes Louisville, a preseason heavyweight who has struggled in back-to-back games against Ohio State a Kentucky. What is plaguing the Cardinals at the moment and can it be fixed? The guys talk about them and the rest of ACC Basketball.

The Big East and Big Ten are likely to benefit from the ACC’s drop, getting a fair share of teams into the NCAA Tournament. Which ones have been the most intriguing to observe? Seton Hall and Wisconsin get some discussion time in this podcast.

Big 12 Basketball will also get some bids but the storyline to watch is the pending battle between Baylor and Kansas for the regular-season title (apologies to Texas Tech). Both teams are on top of the standings and have been very impressive all NCAA Basketball season. But which team does Connor and Brian think is more capable of making a deep postseason run?

Speaking of postseason runs, both the SEC and the Pac-12 might not have many who are capable. The first couple of weeks of conference play have seen some cannibalism, with teams beating up each other up and down the league. Which teams are most likely to separate themselves in the upcoming weeks?

It’s not just the power conference programs who are dealing with Bracketology, as the mid-majors also have their own storylines. The Mountain West and the WCC are closely aligned, with both Gonzaga and San Diego State fighting for a one-seed in the West Region, while Utah State, New Mexico, BYU and Saint Mary’s are all fighting for at-large spots. The guys break down all the possibilities with the teams involved. The rest of the mid-majors also get discussed, including some teams to watch for as potential upset picks in the Big Dance.

New year, even bolder predictions! Find out which player Brian Rauf thinks will put himself into position for National Player of the Year from out west. And while Memphis vs Wichita State is the primetime AAC matchup of the month, you won’t belive who Connor Hope thinks could finish third in the league!
