Wichita State basketball has a chance to make a big statement early in the AAC season on Thursday night.

They’ve already gotten a few good wins this season, but beating Memphis would give them their first top-25 win of the year. A win would extend their streak to eight games and help them boost an already solid resume. Wichita State Basketball’s current streak already includes strong wins over both Oklahoma schools, VCU, and Ole Miss and has pushed them up to 23rd in the country.

Memphis comes into this game looking to bounce back from a weekend loss to Georgia, which caused them to drop 12 spots in the AP poll. Before that loss, they had won 10 games in a row since losing to Oregon in their 3rd game of the season. A win over Wichita State would give them their strongest so far this year and would give them a huge edge in the conference standings.

When these two teams meet on Thursday night in Wichita, they’ll be fighting for AAC supremacy and to keep themselves in the top 25. This is the first big matchup of the AAC season and could give us an early indication of the frontrunner to win this year’s AAC title. it’s also the most interesting matchup on Thursday night’s early slate and one that everybody should be tuning in to ESPN2 to it check out.

Here are three keys for Wichita State to take control of the AAC on national television on Thursday night.
