Another edition of the bracketology projected field of 68 has arrived. Which teams made the cut and which moved up the seed lines?

NCAA basketball season continues to progress and the postseason picture is seemingly becoming more and more blurry by the day. Even though nationally-ranked teams have mostly held serve during the past week, there has been a ton of action around the early-season bubble. Without many teams that have separated themselves as clear-cut tournament teams, there is a lot to break down. As a result, there were once again a ton of changes in my bracketology projected field.

Most notably, though, it appears as though Seton Hall and Wichita State are emerging as contenders for Top 4 seeds this season. Both squads are riding their own respective hot streaks at the moment and are looking to contend at the top of their leagues. For the Pirates, they have won five in a row with a victory over Maryland headlining the stretch. The Shockers, on the other hand, are fresh off defending their home court against Memphis to extend their winning streak to eight.

Nobody really fell off a cliff this week in terms of seeding but that is due to what I said earlier about nationally-ranked teams handling their business recently. That could continue into the future but I doubt it. This season has been far too crazy to this point for things to mellow out now that conference play has arrived.

The next few weeks will certainly give us a better idea of which teams are in good shape to reach the NCAA Tournament but bracketology projected fields are always a fun way to take a snapshot of the country and ignite debate.

Now, without any further introduction, let’s dive into my bracketology update for this week. The field takes into account all games played through Jan. 9th.
