Butler basketball continued its winning ways in its third Big East game by going on the road and taking down Providence by 12. What did we learn?

I’m running out of things to say in these introductory paragraphs. Butler basketball just keeps impressing with every single game as its teamwork and defensive abilities are on constant display. That was once again the case during the team’s most recent contest as it used some extended time off between games to build a strong gameplan and then went out and executed it at a high level.

Behind another stellar defensive performance, the Dawgs went on the road and took down Providence by 12 points. Victories at “The Dunk” have eluded Butler in recent years but this season is really starting to feel special. The Dawgs have simply performed at a superb level in just about every game that they have played en route to holding a 15-1 (3-0 BE).

Head coach LaVall Jordan is the clear favorite for National Coach of the Year at this point as he has instilled a great mentality in his roster. Every player appears to have bought in and is ready to contribute on any given night.

476. Final. 70. 472. 58

Bryce Golden, Jordan Tucker, and Kamar Baldwin were the most notable contributors against Providence as all of them finished the game in double-figures as scorers. This trio combined to post 48 total points and 22 rebounds while shooting 17-for-27 from the field. They were the clear offensive stars in this one but team defense led the way as it has throughout this season.

With that said, Butler’s defense is where my takeaways begin from this game. So, without any further ado, let’s dive into what makes the Dawgs’ defense so elite and some of the other things we learned from this game.
