San Diego State Basketball remains one of the last two undefeated teams in the country. Will it stay that way after taking on a dangerous Boise State Bronco team?
San Diego State Basketball’s 16-0 record includes a few especially impressive wins. They’ve beaten an Iowa team who will find themselves hovering around the top-25 again after beating Maryland, and they demolished Creighton on a neutral court and Utah State in Utah. They have statistically been one of the most impressive teams in the country and don’t seem to have a real weak point. They seem destined for a number 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament right now, but need to avoid stumbling against teams like Boise State.
Boise State has had an up and down season this year. They hold wins over Pacific and BYU, both of which have gotten more impressive as the season has gone on, but they’ve also lost to UC Irvine and Georgia Tech, who are both .500 or worse. Their win earlier this week over UNLV helped them bounce back from getting demolished by Nevada last week and it got them back to 3-2 in conference play.
However, that 3-2 record could still very well mean that any hopes of a regular-season title are over if they lose this game against San Diego State. A win in San Diego would put them right back into contention and could help them become a very interesting case when Selection Sunday rolls around in Match.
These two teams will meet in San Diego on Saturday night on ESPN3 in a matchup that could have major ramifications in the Mountain West Conference. Here are three keys for San Diego State to leave this matchup with a win.
