Arizona State Basketball is set to face the #20 Colorado Buffaloes for the second time this season on January 16th, at ASU Well Fargo Arena. With the Sun Devils halfway through a difficult season, can they pull off an upset win against Colorado?

In the 2019-2020 season opener, the Buffaloes defeated Arizona State Basketball by a score of 81-71 in a non-conference game.

In order for the Sun Devils to have a chance at beating the 20th ranked team in the country, they are going to be forced to find answers both defensively and offensively.

Sun Devils Remy Martin and Romello White, who have combine for an average of 29 points per game, will have to step up and continue to be the difference makers. The Sun Devils have struggled with consistent scoring this season and have struggled to find their identity as a team earlier in the season and at the start of Pac-12 play.

However the Sun Devil’s key to success in being able to control the tempo of the game, take smart shots behind the arc, while having the ability to collect both offensive and defensive rebounds is something that they proved they are more than capable of doing in their crucial win over the Oregon State Beavers a week ago. It seemed as though the Sun Devil’s clicked and played cohesively for the first time this season.

The Sun Devils will go into the game with a record of 10-6 and sitting in 7th place in Pac-12 play. With the Buffaloes coming off of an impressive 91-52 win over the Utah Utes, the Buffaloes find themselves with a record of 13-3 and are currently sitting at 3rd place in the Pac-12.
