Butler basketball will look to recover from only its second loss of the season as it goes on the road to face DePaul. What will it take to win?

Butler basketball has faced its fair share of adversity this season despite coming out of the gates with a very strong record worthy of inclusion in the AP Top 10. More and more challenges just keep approaching, though, and the most pressing is an upcoming road matchup with DePaul. Even though the Blue Demons have dropped each of their first four games to begin conference play, they are a talented team and the Dawgs will need to be ready.

Every conference game is vitally important for Butler to have a shot at the regular-season title but this one is especially big considering the team is hoping to get back on track after dropping their last game to Seton Hall at home. That was a hard-fought loss for the Dawgs against a very good opponent but a disappointing one considering they led by 10 at halftime.

Now, with three out of the next four games on the road, Butler will need to prove once again that it belongs not only among the best teams in the conference but the best in the country.

DePaul represents another unique challenge as it is a team hoping to crawl back into the NCAA Tournament conversation after a rough stretch to begin conference play. This is a massive opportunity for the Blue Demons to add a signature home win to their potential postseason resume. The Dawgs, on the other hand, will be looking to move to 3-0 on the road during their Big East schedule.

With tip-off approaching quickly on Jan. 18th, let’s dive a bit deeper into this matchup. This preview will break down DePaul a bit more, hit three keys to success for Butler, and then provide a pregame Hark’s Bark.
