San Diego State Basketball has had a better week than just about any other team in the country this week. Can they keep it up against Nevada?

San Diego State Basketball won at Fresno State on Tuesday night, a team they had struggled to beat on the road. That same night, Duke, who is one of the six teams ahead of SDSU in the AP poll, picked up their second bad loss of the season. Then on Wednesday, Butler, another team ahead of them, lost at home and Auburn lost to make San Diego State the last undefeated team left in college basketball.

That same night, New Mexico got blown out by Colorado State, leaving only one team in the Mountain West within a game of the Aztecs. SDSU’s win over Fresno State was their 18th in a row to start the season and moved them to 7-0 in the conference. Their dominance has somehow only been enough to get them ranked #7 in the country, but that should change on Monday if they can get extend their win streak to 19 with a win over Nevada.

Nevada’s week (and season as a whole) hasn’t been quite as enjoyable for the Wolfpack. They are 11-7 so far this season and have split their last eight. That includes a loss last weekend to Utah State and barely got by Wyoming in a game where they needed a late bucket to win by one. Nevada is 4-2 in conference play and doesn’t have a signature win yet, so if they’re going to turn Steve Alford’s first season into anything other than a disappointment, they’re going to need to start turning things around with a win on Saturday.

The matchup will take place on Saturday night at Viejas Arena, where Nevada hasn’t won since joining the Mountain West. Here are three keys for San Diego State to keep that trend and their unbeaten record alive.
