Most teams have already played several conference games at this point in the season. Who helped their Bracketology recently the most?

It’s the middle of January in the NCAA Basketball season and nothing has been established. The top teams in the rankings continue to lose, while others are getting the wins they need to remain in the NCAA Tournament at-large picture. It continues to have a changing impact overall in Bracketology, whether it involves teams maintaining their high seeding or staying alive in the tourney picture.

In this past week alone, five of the top-10 ranked teams lost at least once, with both Duke and Auburn falling twice. Baylor nearly fell on the road at Oklahoma State, who desperately needed a Quad-1 win to jumpstart their resume. They could’ve been listed as a Bracketology “winner”, had they won that matchup but will have to wait another week.

There were a number of teams who were winners in terms of Bracketology. DePaul ended a four-game slide with a massive victory over No. 5 Butler, while Dayton remains unbeaten in the Atlantic 10 after a comeback road win in overtime at Saint Louis, who really blew an opportunity to get a huge win. Syracuse got a needed win against Virginia Tech to try to get back into the picture, while LSU avoiding bad losses this week on the road to both Ole Miss and Texa A&M to remain unbeaten in the SEC.

There were others who also benefitted with their respective resumes but there were five specific programs who I thought had the best situational outcomes. Here are the programs along with my explanations.
