The fall of West Virginia
West Virginia came into their game against Kansas State ranked 12th in the nation, With many bracketologists having them as a 2nd seed in their March Madness projections, but will fall in polls with their recent loss to one of the Big-12’s worst teams, Kansas State.
Texas appears to be a tough out
Texas gave Kansas all they could handle thanks to a 20 point. 6 rebound effort from Jericho Sims. But luckily for Kansas, they had Devon Dotson back, as he scored 21 points, along with six rebounds, three assists, and a steal. “If we played without him today we would not have won” Bill Self said. Texas’s head coach Shaka Smart said: “Those two (Sims and Azubuike) canceled each other out, their guards were the biggest difference in the game.”
It’ll be interesting to see how well Texas and West Virginia play next week in response to their losses.
Without further ado, here are my Big-12 basketball rankings for 1/20/2020:
